The Face Moisturiser Low Down: Top 5

The Face Moisturiser Low Down: Top 5

I’ve tried and tested my fair share of moisturisers, from the over priced (of course i bought it discounted) to the £1 miracle creams shouted about in the magazine articles. But to be honest the price of a moisturiser doesn’t always reflect the benefit of its contents. So what moisturisers are hanging around in my skincare drawer and which ones do i alternate between?

Sukin Facial Moisturiser
This is my current and most favourite daily facial moisturiser. A vegan friendly, light weight face cream that contains natural ingredients such as rose hip oil, wheat germ, jojoba, aloe vera, avocado oils, nettle and burdock that aid in soothing, hydrating and protecting the skin. One pea sized amount is enough smooth over the whole face to leave it feeling smooth and plump. The scent is very natural and botanical with a medium consistency that has a light weight feel.
Bioactive Skincare Manuka Honey Cream
A moisturiser I tend to reach for when my skin is in need of rescuing from an unhealthy weekend or environmental effects. This botanical formulation contains organic Manuka honey, aloe vera, almond, shea butter, cocoa butter, beeswax, liquorice and vitamin E that aid in the repair of dry, damaged or sensitive skin. This cream can be used anywhere on the body but I find it works incredibly well on facial sunburn or a dry t-zone.  The scent is sweet but not too pungent and the cream works into the skin beautifully leaving a soft, non sticky feel.

Insta Natural Vitamin C Moisturiser
A true Spring/ Summer moisturiser that contains ingredients such as Vitamin C, Hyaluronic Acid, Peptides and Plant stem cells. These ingredients not only renew your skin from post UV damage but they also help to reduce signs of ageing such as wrinkles, age spots and dryness. On application the cream works very much like an SPF sun block (however it does contain hyaluronic acid so it definitely isn’t a sunblock!) with a thick white consistency that needs massaging well into the skin but once your skin begins to drink the ingredients up its leaves it looking and feeling soft, smooth and can be used as the perfect primer base for makeup.
Garnier Moisturiser Match Hydrating Gel
Part of Garniers Moisture Match range this hydrating gel is for those with dull skin who want to hydrate and give their skin a natural glow. The gel is a thick consistency which once warmed up (when massaging into the face) it almost turns into a facial serum that leaves a healthy glow. Surprisingly it is non sticky and leaves the skin feeling fresh, awake and ready for the day. I like to alternate between moisturisers and find this best suited for Summer days where you want to look and feel fresh and healthy whilst wearing little to no makeup.
Garnier Moisture Match Mattifying Cream
My skin is very much in the combination catagory and tends to alternate between being oily and a dry. For those days where my t zone is a little more oily I like to use the Garnier Moisture Match Mattifying Cream perfect for those with normal to oily skin. I’d say it’s very much like your average moisturiser with the added benefit of a semi matt finish. To rid oily skin you need to keep it hydrated and most people forget that, this cream nourishes and hydrates whilst adding that photoshop blur look to the skin.
