I’ve been wishing for autumn/ winter to come around ever since summer began, I hate sticky weather, bright shades of clothing, exposed bodies and that arrogance that people get when the suns out… what is that all about?
So as the high street stores have finally donned their rails of burnt autumnal shades, chunky knits, leather boots and fluffy coats I’m packing away my ‘summer’ clothes (or to be truthful selling them on EBay)and loading up my winter wardrobe. It’s a little funny as we are meant to be having a heat wave in Britain this week but I’ll be donning my winter shades.
Three staple pieces I have in my autumn/ winter wardrobe are a good pair of black ankle boots – I would recommend a good long lasting leather pair but I fell in love with these suede black chelsea boots from H&M. They have a rubber sole which I always find more comfortable and less noisy than that hard plastic heel! I’ve coated them several times in weather proof spray and considering I’ve worn them non-stop they look as good as new!
A leather skirt – This was in fact a longer midi skirt I picked up last Christmas which I wore in a post >here<. I was so close to selling it as it had gotten a little too big, instead I decided I couldn’t part with it and went a chain of seamstresses called Stitches UK. They did an incredible job of shortening the skirt, taking it in at the waist and also taking in both of the sides to fit better.
And then of course a fedora hat – I’m obsessed with this style of hat and have been for years, I finally have small collections which include; a wine shade, a black shade and a burgundy shade. I’m currently on the lookout for khaki, navy and maybe even a grey one!
