Ma’s Bars Handmade Bath & Skincare Products

Ma’s Bars Hand Made Bath & Skincare Products (*)

Ma’s Bars is a vegetarian bath and skincare brand producing handmade natural products that are completely free from sodium sulphates, parabens and colourings, plus they’re animal friendly too. From deliciously scented body butters, sugar scrubs, soaps and shampoo bars to invigorating body oils, candles and even a little something for the men! All their products are locally sourced in and around the Oldham, Manchester area so for those who live in the North West UK go check them out!

What I love most about this brand is it’s clean, classic and vintage inspired way of storing their products. From brown paper packages, sweet (and informative) labelled jars and medicine style bottles to the pop corn filled package keeping your delivery from breakage, every product has that handmade touch that you just don’t get from the high-street.

I was lucky enough to be given the opportunity to review a handful of products from their rather delicious sounding bath and skincare range and also give my support to local independents!

Lemongrass & Oats Soap (olive oil, sunflower oil, coconut oil, lye, lemongrass essential oil, oats)
A solidified moisturising bar of soap with beneficial, zingy lemongrass and soothing natural oats. The product itself looks beautifully put together with its unintentional smokey like appearance. The soap itself has a stronger scent when it comes in contact with water, it lathers up nicely and delicately smoothes over the skin. It’s the perfect scent to help you to get up and go in the mornings, plus the oats and super moisturising too!

Rosemary & Spearmint Shampoo (coconut oil, olive oil, rice bran oil, castor oil, rosemary essential oil, spearmint essential oil)
Soap for your hair? Nope this is a solidified shampoo bar. The shampoo is made from essential ingredients that help to cleanse the hair and also penetrate deep into the scalp to prevent dryness. On application (to preserve the bar) I broke small part of the product off and rubbed the bar onto wet hair, waiting for it to lather up before massaging it into the scalp. The product itself creates a tingling sensation that leaves your hair feeling fresh, clean and healthy.

Key Lime Pie Body Butter (coconut oil, shea butter, olive oil, lime essential oil, vanilla extract)
You will not believe how amazingly delicious this product smells so much so you almost wish it was edible! My favourite, the body butter itself is a whipped, lightweight butter that upon application melts into the skin to form nourishing oil that instantly hydrates and gives the skin a healthy glow. Of course, this is all whilst leaving your skin smelling incredibly fresh, energised and ready to go. What I love most about this product is a little goes a long way so this small but mighty jar will last you a good month or two.

Grapefruit & Orange Sugar Scrub (sugar, olive oil, coconut oil, grapefruit essential oil, orange essential oil)
An uplifting and awakening sugar scrub that’d be the perfect essential to lazy mornings or energise your mind in the evenings. The product itself contains 2 nourishing oils which ideally make it a 2 in 1 product for exfoliating and moisturising. The oils also help the sugar to be less abrasive on the skin making it perfect for those who are a little more sensitive skin types. After massaging the product over the skin, rinsing it off and stepping out of the bath, my skin was ridiculously soft, supple and smooth that there’s no need for further moisturising!

Get Up & Go Massage Oil (grapeseed oil, ginger essential oil, grapefruit essential oil)
An oil that you can use either to massage into the skin or add a few drops into your bath to create a relaxing yet uplifting atmosphere. I know for a fact that ginger is an essential warming and energising oil that when adding to a bath can help ease aches, pains and stimulate the mind. There for I added around 8-10 drops into warm running water and instantly my bathroom transformed into a beautifully scented spa! I’m yet to rope in the other half for a massage but the benefits of the ingredients would work amazingly upon direct contact with the skin.

Handmade Tangerine Candle
I recently lit this candle whilst Spring cleaning my flat and the tangerine scent really made the room smell like Spring! The scent isn’t too pungent but gives off just enough to make a room smell noticeably fresh and fruity! For me its very much a day time candle and goes hand in hand with the zingy scent of the sugar scrub and body butter. An awakening and uplifting scent that’s perfect to light in Spring and Summer.
